Our first project for Empowering Women is our Vocational Training project, devoted to helping Nepalese women become certified and self-sustaining. We will start with just one women, and grow from there. Our hope is to establish an apprentice system, so that after finishing school, the graduate goes on to continue their education in a professional environment.
The first step in this process is fundraising. We are covering the costs of tuition, transportation, food during school, and a professional grade sewing mean upon the satisfactory completion of the curriculum. The cost breakdown is as follows, made with researched estimates but not final costs.
Tuition: $700
Sewing Machine: $150
Transportation: $75
Food costs: $200
It total it’s just about $1100 for one women to receive the training, depending on any additional learning materials that might come up. We have begun the search for our first candidate and will update you as soon as we can about her. In the meantime if you are ready to support the program, please click here to offer a donation.
